What the 21.09.2026 notice asked candidates to do
Notice CBT-26/25/2026 asked appearing candidates to upload their final marksheet, pass result or provisional certificate. Candidates with CGPA also had to upload a conversion certificate if the formula is not on the marksheet. Uploads were made through the individual login portal. The notice warns that missing or illegible documents may lead to rejection.

Eligibility Criteria
Each discipline has its own degree rule. In general, a minimum of 60% marks is required. SC, ST and PwBD candidates get a 5% relaxation, so they need 55%.
- Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering: Engineering degree in the same branch with at least 60%.
- System: First-class BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IT, or any first-class degree with MCA.
- E&T: BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in a relevant branch with at least 60%.
- Geology: M.Sc or M.Tech in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics or Applied Geophysics with at least 60%.
- Rajbhasha (Hindi): MA in Hindi with 60%, plus graduation with Hindi and English as main subjects with 50%.
- Company Secretary: Any graduate degree plus Associate or Fellow membership of ICSI.
Selection Process and CBT Pattern
Selection depends only on CBT marks. There is no interview. Shortlisted candidates then go through Document Verification and the Initial Medical Examination before any offer is issued.

The test lasts 3 hours in a single sitting. Each question carries 1 mark, and there is no negative marking. Papers are bilingual (English and Hindi).
Minimum qualifying marks (each paper)

Salary, Training and Service Bond
Selected candidates join in the E-1 grade with a pay scale of ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000. The basic pay during training is ₹60,000 per month. Training-cum-probation lasts one year, after which the officer is confirmed.
In addition, a service bond applies. Candidates must serve at least 60 months. A ₹3 lakh bond is signed at joining, and ₹5,000 per month is deducted towards it. This amount is refunded without interest after 60 months of service.
