SCL Recruitment 2026 Application Fee
The fee has two parts. A processing fee of ₹600 is non-refundable for everyone. The remaining application fee is refunded only to women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates who appear in the CBT.

SCL Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
Age is counted as on the closing date of the online application.

The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (NCL). PwBD candidates get 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC) or 15 years (SC/ST). Ex-Servicemen get 3 years after deducting military service. Eligible Central Government and MeitY society employees also get relaxation as per the advertisement.
SCL Recruitment 2026 Eligibility
- Technician ‘B’: Matriculation/SSLC plus 2-year ITI (NCVT) in the trade, or NAC/NTC in the trade. You also need 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Technical Assistant: 3-year full-time First Class Diploma in the discipline plus 2 years of experience in an R&D institute or industry. Physics and Chemistry need a First Class B.Sc. in that subject. Electronics also accepts First Class B.Sc. Electronics, and Computer Science accepts First Class BCA.
- Junior Personal Assistant: 12th pass, with stenography at 80 wpm for 10 minutes and computer transcription in 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi).
- Officer posts (Level 10): Graduate with 10 years, postgraduate with 5 years, or the specified MBA with 2 years of supervisory experience in the relevant field. For Accounts Officer, CA/ICWA is also accepted.
Supervisory experience must be at Level 6 of the Pay Matrix or above, or at a CTC of at least ₹10 lakh a year.
SCL Selection Process 2026
All posts start with a Computer Based Test (CBT). Each wrong answer carries a penalty of 0.25 marks.
- Technician ‘B’ and Technical Assistant: CBT of 120 minutes with Part A (general, 100 marks) and Part B (trade subject, 100 marks). Next comes a qualifying Skill Test with no marks. The final merit is based on CBT marks.
- Junior Personal Assistant: CBT of 100 questions in 60 minutes, then a stenography Skill Test.
- Officer posts: CBT and Personal Interview. The CBT carries 60% weightage and the interview 40%.
The minimum CBT qualifying marks are 50% for UR, 45% for OBC (NCL)/EWS and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/ESM in the technical posts. CBT centres are New Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The Skill Test and Interview will be held at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) or Chandigarh.
