Application Fee
CSBC charged two fee slabs. Moreover, the fee was payable online only, through net banking or a credit/debit card.
- Rs. 180: SC/ST candidates, Bihar-domicile women of all categories and transgender candidates.
- Rs. 675: all other candidates.
Bank charges were extra, and the fee was non-refundable.
Bihar Police Constable Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years, counted as on 01-08-2025. For the upper age limit, the notice uses 01-08-2023 as the reference date. The category-wise maximum age is given below.

In addition, the UR women count includes 397 posts for women wards of freedom fighters (FFW). The notice also reserves 30% of posts for candidates from Naxal-affected districts: Rohtas, Kaimur, Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Banka, Munger, Jamui, Lakhisarai and Paschim Champaran.
Educational Qualification
You need Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent pass from a recognised board. The notice also accepts the Maulvi certificate of the Bihar Madrasa Board and Shastri or Acharya from the Bihar Sanskrit Board, along with other equivalent qualifications recognised by the state government.

Chest expansion must be at least 5 cm. Women need a minimum weight of 48 kg.
Selection Process and PET Marks
Step 1: Written exam (qualifying)
The written test has 100 objective questions of 1 mark each, and it lasts 2 hours. It covers Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science and General Knowledge. You need 30% marks to qualify. CSBC then calls five times the vacancies in each category to the PET. However, written marks do not count in the final merit.
Step 2: Physical Efficiency Test (100 marks)
The final merit is based on PET marks. Therefore, the PET is the most important stage.

For running, men score 40, 30 or 20 marks in each 20-second band between 5 and 6 minutes. Women score in the same way between 4 and 5 minutes. Missing the minimum in any event means disqualification.
Step 3: Documents and medical
Next, CSBC verifies certificates for age, qualification, category and domicile. Finally, selected candidates go through a medical examination before appointment.
Salary
The official notice places the Constable post in Pay Level-3, with a pay scale of Rs. 21,700 – 69,100. Allowances apply as per Bihar government rules.
